Dieser Stahl enthlt 1,45 % Kohlenstoff, 14 % Chrom, 4 % Vanadium und 2 % Molybdn. Dabei handelt es sich um einen besonders hoch legierten, korrosionsbestndigen Werkzeugstahl mit sehr hoher Verschleifestigkeit. Die Gebrauchshrte liegt bei 57-59 HRC. Der Werkstoff ist aufgrund seines sehr hohen Gehaltes an Sondercarbiden zwar sehr verschleifest, aber dadurch auch recht sprde. Zudem ist das Schrfen sehr schwierig. Daraus ergibt sich, dass feine und auerordentlich scharfe Schneiden nicht erreicht werden und stabile Schneiden erst ab Schneidenwinkeln von 40 und mehr gehalten werden knnen.
